Attend a Board of Education Meeting
Norwalk Board of Education meetings are open to the public, and families and community members are encouraged to attend.
The BOE holds regular Board Business Meetings, as well as committee meetings focused on areas such as:

Can't attend in person?
BOE meetings are currently streamed live through Zoom. Meeting-specific viewing information can be found with the meeting details.
Recordings are also posted to the Norwalk Public Schools YouTube channel, generally within 48 hours of the meeting.

π° Stay Informed About the NPS Budget
The school budget develops over several months and involves the Board of Education, City of Norwalk, Common Council, and Board of Estimate & Taxation (BET).
During budget season, there are multiple opportunities for families and community members to learn about proposed funding, attend meetings and public hearings, and provide feedback.
NPS maintains a Budget Website with budget presentations, updates, meeting information and other financial documents.

You don't need to wait until there is a major issue to get involved. Following BOE meetings, reading agendas, learning about the school budget and communicating with local leaders are great ways to understand the decisions being made for our schools.
