About WAC

General

We welcome anyone who respects the ethos of our club and the traditions of Aikido to train with us. Our style is Aikikai, but we welcome people with experience in other styles. We aim to practise a soft style of Aikido while maintaining a martial spirit. Our classes are suitable for anyone over 16. There is no maximum age. We do not have a children's class.

Wokingham Aikido Club is a not-for-profit club organisation, whose aim is to promote fitness through the practice of Aikido.

Club Instructor

Ivor Cinderby Sensei has been WAC's instructor since the summer of 2006, when he took over from Rebecca Saville Sensei who started the club in 2002.

Ivor Sensei, currently a 4th degree black belt, has been practising Aikido since 1988 and holds a coaching certificate from the British Aikido Board. He also holds the title of 'Fukushidoin' (Assistant National Coach) from the Kyu Shin Kan Omeikai.

Ivor Sensei is a seasoned practitioner. He has trained with many Japanese instructors both in Japan and in the UK including Moriteru Ueshiba, the grandson of Aikido founder.
