WOMEN OF COLOR ROAR LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
Mission: WOC Leadership Academy is committed to educating, preparing, supporting, and empowering young women of color.
In 2023, Women of Color Roar Media launched The Women of Color Roar Leadership Academy to provide workshops and in-depth training to prepare young women of color for a job in public service and government. It is imperative that we prepare young women from historically underserved communities with a foundation to develop and sustain financial independence. With this in mind, we have created workshops on financial literacy and resume preparation. With increased competition for jobs that provide good salaries and limited opportunities for home ownership, the WOC Roar Leadership Academy will provide young women from traditionally economically disadvantaged circumstances with additional training, resources, and tools to succeed.
WOC Leadership Academy will provide mentorship and support for young women to enrich their lives with safe spaces, education, and character-building opportunities, providing a holistic approach to building up purposeful, resilient, and empowered women. The goal is to provide programs that equip, empower, and encourage young women to thrive as leaders from within while providing resources to nurture a thriving mindset, so they will become unstoppable leaders and confident women in public service and life.
Values:
Empowerment: WOC Roar Leadership Academy believes empowered women create better outcomes for themselves, their family, and their communities. WOC Roar Leadership Academy strives to facilitate a culture of empowerment through the imparting of its services.
Diversity: WOC Roar Leadership Academy believes diversity is our strength. Therefore, WOC Roar Leadership Academy will continue to invite and elevate young women of color.
Community: WOC Roar Leadership Academy will provide needed services and is committed to community stability.
Collaboration: WOC Roar Leadership Academy works with community partners, sponsors, and organizations for a stronger foundation and network to provide resources, tools, and opportunities for our Future Leaders.
