7th Annual Women of Color Roar Breakfast:
ROOTED IN RESILIENCE
Honoring the Strengths of Black Women
We are thrilled to invite you to our 7th Annual Women of Color Roar Breakfast, where we gather to honor the strength, resilience, and remarkable contributions of Black women who continue to shape our communities and our country. This year’s theme, Rooted in Resilience, reflects not only the strength that has carried us forward but also the hope and courage we hold for the journey ahead.
This year, we acknowledge the difficult road ahead with honesty and determination. Despite the challenges, we know that our strength grows stronger in the face of adversity. Black women have always been the heart of progress, advocating tirelessly, leading fearlessly, and inspiring change where it is most needed. Now, we look to the future, calling upon every woman in our community to envision herself in leadership—whether in elected office, boardrooms, nonprofits, or as change-makers in their neighborhoods.
We invite you to be part of this powerful morning of conversation, inspiration, and connection. Join us to honor those who have blazed trails and to support those who will continue the journey. Together, let’s celebrate the unique and vital role that Black women play in our society and energize our collective mission to uplift, empower, and lead.
In 2023, we launched the WOC Roar Leadership Academy to provide life skills, career development, and civic engagement training for young women, ages 15-18, from historically underserved communities. The excitement of a Black woman presidential candidate elevated the possibilities for the students in our Future Leaders Program. We must meet this moment by doubling our efforts to prepare the next generation of young women to be strong, confident, and capable leaders. Click HERE to donate to our WOC Roar Leadership Academy. Looking ahead to 2025, the Women of Color Roar Breakfast will feature two lifelong friends of President Kamala Harris as special guests. We’re also excited to announce our first-ever legislative field trips! Ten of our Future Leaders will be invited to join us on a journey to Sacramento, where they’ll meet with state legislators, discuss key bills under consideration, and observe the Senate and Assembly chambers in session. Our second trip will take these young leaders to Washington, D.C., for an inspiring Capitol tour.
Please help us achieve our mission by joining our Rafiki Circle and becoming a sustaining monthly donor.
