We will practice editing a pre-planned video on the Chromebooks. You will know the basics of video editing and will be able to start making your own videos right away.

This presentation will cover the major similarities and differences between Microsoft and Google Enterprise Solutions. Creation, collaboration, and presentation look and work a bit differently with each platform. For a long time, the idea of cellphones in the classroom has held a negative connotation for educators. In this program, we want to show ways that personal devices can be used in the classroom, how teachers can make them a friend instead of a foe and things that can’t be done without them.
Tech Integration / BOCES Tech Coach
Technology Integrators/ coaches present new ideas to teachers on how technology can be integrated in their classrooms. These ideas need continued support to take hold in across a building or grade level. This session will allow conversation with BOCES Technology Coordinator and Alden High School’s ATLAS Team members who are currently collaborating in Alden’s Primary and Intermediate Schools to support district educational technology initiatives. Teachers and students often need extended time for supporting their new skills relating to educational technology. High school students can engage in developing their communication skills while serving as an extension of the reach of the Technology Coaches/Integrators within districts.

Future resources for web creation sharing will also be discussed.
Goosechase - Fun Scavenger Hunts using Mobile Technology
Goosechase is a web-based platform that allows teachers and student leaders to create digital scavenger hunts that provide dynamic learning experiences. Scavenger hunt participants then use an iOS or Android app as they complete missions to earn points. The team-building and collaborative benefits of this activity are excellent.
From Vision to Implementation
Creating a student led technical support team develops communication and leadership skills by engaging students in solving real world informational and educational problems within their districts. From developing a district vision to troubleshooting day-to-day 1:1 computing issues, students have the ability to help each other and faculty become more effective in the educational setting.Alden, Depew, and Lancaster are in different points in the implementation continuum. Each school has shared and learned a great deal from each other and is eager to influence positive changes in the regions schools. The format of this presentation is a panel discussion open to concerns from any point in the implementation process. Key topics will include: administrative support, integrating extracurricular student clubs, identifying the right students to lead, building capacity, designing the student space for Tech Support, expanding into elementary schools, involving Work Based Learning Programs, grading, and partnering with industry.
