Important Information Regarding Divisions, Team Composition, etc., PLEASE READ COMPLETELY!
Welcome to 2023 Western New York Region Mega Rally!
This year we are hosting overnight qualifying rallys consisting of Show Jumping, Dressage & Western Dressage at Houghton Equestrian Center. A Mega Rally offers competitors the opportunity to experience an overnight rally (similar to Championships). Below are important points that each team should note prior to rally entry / arrival.
Team composition for Show Jumping & Dressage Rallies should remain the same when possible. This will allow the teams to remain in the same stalls / tack stalls for the entire rally.
Due to stabling space entries will be limited and taken on a first come first serve basis. All competitors must compete out of stalls and arrive late afternoon on Friday, May 26th for Show Jumping and Saturday, May 27th for Dressage.
Arrival times begin at 3pm on Friday, May 26th. Those competing in Dressage Rally only may arrive at 5pm on Saturday, May 27th. It is strongly encouraged to arrive between 3-4pm on Friday as Jogs / Start of Competition will start "on time" regardless of team arrival times.
Those competitors competing with different horses for Show Jumping and Dressage are to swap their horses on their own time after turnbacks for Show Jumping. No outside assistance can be used. Dressage horses must be in their official rally stall prior to the start of Dressage Rally on Saturday. There is limited stabling (within walking distance) available near the rally grounds for those horses.
Dressage Rally will only allow Musical Freestyles for those wishing to qualify for championships. This is due to overall time constraints for the day. Pas de Deux are not offered.
Musical Freestyle music must be emailed to juliejordan8175@gmail.com in a format playable on an iphone. Physical discs are not accepted. Music must be received by May 15th.
Attire requirements are outlined in the Show Jumping, Dressage and Western Dressage Rally Rulebooks. Formal attire will be required for each rally. Non-qualifying competitors in Show Jumping may wear club polos and jodhs/breeches.
Equipment requirements are outlined in the Show Jumping, Dressage and Western Dressage Rally Rulebooks regarding all equipment (i.e. bits, spurs, whips, martingales, etc.).
It is the competitors responsibility to be in compliance for all attire / equipment requirements.
The waiving of coats/jackets will be at the descretion of the ground jury. All riders must have sleeves on their show shirts and remove all neck wear in the event of coats waived.
Again this year Show Jumping Formal Inspection scores are able to be "carried over" for Dressage Rally. You are required to complete a new Formal Inspection for Dressage Rally if you wish to qualify for Dressage Championships. All competitors may complete a new Formal Inspection for Dressage Rally should they like to.
Below are Divisions offered for each rally. Each competitor must select their division for both Show Jumping and Dressage Rally. Seperate entries are required for each rally. There are no substitutions to the outlined divisions.
