APPE rotations for all blocks are scheduled and finalized by mid-March every year.  A call for availabilities typically begins between September and January of the previous year. 
An excel sheet with student names, preceptor names, and their block schedules is sent to the site coordinator once schedules are finalized in March.  If any schedule changes occur (a change in who can precept which blocks, switching preceptors, new changes or openings in availability, etc.), please inform Dominic DeFilipi and an updated student list will be sent for the site’s records, if necessary.   

Spring IPPE availabilities are arranged between August and November every year; they are usually finalized by the first week of December.  A fillable availability form with the rotation dates is emailed to the student coordinator and/or past preceptors at the site.  Once students are assigned to preceptors at the site, Dominic DeFilipi, WNE’s operations coordinator for experiential affairs, will send student names, contacts, and scheduling information to the site coordinator and/or preceptor. 

WNE has a distance learning pathway (DLP) which requires students to complete some IPPEs during the summer.  These IPPEs are 5 days/week for three or four-week blocks, as opposed to the normal one day per week IPPE schedules during the school year. These IPPEs are scheduled on an as-needed basis, but would be arranged by emailing the site’s student coordinator between February and April.  Chantel Burnett is the coordinator for this pathway, so please contact her with any questions.
