Mission Statement: OLLI empowers Washington state teacher-librarians to become indispensable leaders and advocates for strong school library programs, enhancing student learning and community engagement.
Vision Statement: We envision a future where every school in Washington state has a dynamic, teacher-librarian led library program that:
Advocates fiercely for student access, information equity, and library funding, increasing community awareness around the essential role school libraries serve in a school community.
Leads educational initiatives and professional development both within the library world and for content-area teachers and school administrators.
Impacts both student and staff success in the schools they serve and in the larger education field.
Through OLLI, teacher-librarians will transform school libraries into essential hubs of learning, innovation, and community support.
OLLI is its participants. As such, it evolves as the needs of its participants change and as the needs of our communities and state change. At the center of everything we do are the students we serve and how we can best support their learning and the educational practices of our colleagues.
