Based on feedback from the 2024-25 Cohort, OLLI organizers have implemented the following improvements for the 2025-26 program:
Begin with an online orientation June 23 from 4-5 p.m. (will also be recorded) that will allow us to maximize our in-person time.
Expand our in-person summer session to two days, August 4-5, in Seattle.
Instead of individual "big asks," we will create "task forces" of participants with similar interests. Each task force will include an OLLI leader who will support participants in their work. Specific task force projects will be determined collaboratively at the summer session, but could include focuses such as supporting ELA teachers with the new standards, legislative advocacy, partnerships with teacher and administrator preparation programs, and creating conference sessions for classroom teachers and administrators.
Virtual sessions will include time for the entire group and breakout rooms for task forces.
Task forces will decide as a group how much of their work will be synchronous vs. asynchronous.
