Doing Research

Gathering sources, staying organized, avoiding plagiarism, and citing your sources are all key steps involved in doing research. You might have a paper you need to finish, or a presentation to create, but it's a guarantee that you'll need to do some kind of research during your college career.

They've created a Study Skills series with Thomas Frank, author of 10 Steps to Earning Awesome Grades and creator of CollegeInfoGeek.com and an academic skills-centric Youtube channel. Writing Papers

Writing a paper can be stressful. Whether it's a report, a research paper, or a narrative essay, it's important to follow the writing process to make sure you include all of the necessary information in your final product. And don't forget to plan ahead! Writing a paper the night before it's due, or even the night of, is likely not your best work. Set aside time throughout your week to work on your paper little by little, and before you know it, it'll be polished and ready to submit.

Term Papers

A term paper is a whole new idea when it comes to writing papers. These papers are much longer and often compile information learned throughout an entire semester of classes, rather than just one unit. It is imperative that you begin work on this paper as soon as possible, so you're not trying to write 15-20 pages the night before it is due. Follow the plan below, create a timeline for yourself, and try to work on your paper a little bit every week.
