winter GUARD

Our Winter guard program consists of a Varsity, JV, and Jr. Guard.  All groups compete in the OIPA circuit with occasional guest appearances in the MEPA circuit. The guard competes indoor in a gym, often using a floor tarp and props to bring their shows to life. 

In 2023, our Varsity Winter Guard became a WGI Scholastic A Class finalist for the very first time!  All teams (Varsity, Regional A, and Jr.) placed 2nd at MEPA Circuit Championships in their respective class.  

In 2022, our Varsity Winter Guard was a WGI Scholastic A Class Semi-Finalist, and placed 3rd at OIPA Circuit Championships.  Our JV Winter Guard was the Novice Class Champion at OIPA Circuit Championships.

Enrollment in the winter guard is open to any student from Kilbourne High School, McCord Middle School, Perry Middle School, and Phoenix Middle School (who will attend WK) in grades 6-12.  Clinics begin each November in preparation for the winter season.
