The Color Guard is an integral part of the success of the Worthington Kilbourne Marching Band. The Color Guard is a major contributing factor to the visual program of the marching band. The color guard consists of about 30 students, and they work to incorporate dance, equipment (flags and rifles), props and costuming to help the marching band bring their program to life!
The Kilbourne Marching Band is the most visible performance ensemble at Worthington Kilbourne. In addition to several community performances, the band performs at all Worthington Kilbourne football games and also competes throughout the fall at several marching band competitions around the state. During the past decade, the band has also traveled and performed in New York, Hawaii, Florida and California.
Enrollment in the color guard is open to any student from Kilbourne High School, McCord Middle School, Perry Middle School, and Phoenix Middle School (who will attend WK) in grades 8-12. Clinics begin each spring in preparation for the fall marching season.
Not quite old enough to join the fall color guard? Keep an eye out for our Middle School Night each season!
