Music has always been Ms. Zarecky’s passion, and she is grateful for the opportunity to share that passion with her students. She believes the arts enrich our communities and that every child deserves access to a high-quality music education. Through music, she strives to help students grow in confidence and discover their unique talents and passions.
Ms. Zarecky brings a diverse range of musical and educational experiences to the classroom. A versatile musician and performer, she has studied piano, voice, and brass, with tuba as her primary instrument. She holds a Master of Music in Tuba Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Luther College. In addition, she is a certified Kodály educator, having completed all three levels of training through the Colorado Kodály Institute.
Dedicated to ongoing professional growth, Ms. Zarecky is a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the Organization of American Kodály Educators (OAKE), and the Regional Organization of Colorado Kodály Educators (ROCKE). She enjoys performing with community ensembles and remains actively engaged in the musical community.
While she went to school for tuba, singing is her passion, starting her choral career at age 11 as a member of the Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale and singing in many school and community choirs since then. When she isn't in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, & kitty (Wren), trying out new recipes, and crafting.
