Mr. Michael Lyons

High Brass

Michael Lyons will be teaching as the primary high brass instructor this marching season. Michael is a recent graduate from CSU-Pueblo having obtained a bachelor’s in music education. Michael is also a Palmer alumnus having attended from 2012-2016 under the teaching of Mr. W. Dale Crockett. He currently works as an instrumental music teacher at Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences.

Michael has studied both trumpet and euphonium as part of his performance studies and achieved great success during college as first chair euphonium for the CSU-Pueblo Wind Ensemble and a lead trumpet player in the university’s Jazz 1 ensemble. Michael also has a strong marching background having performed for all four years of high school, three years in college, and marched drum corps with the world class corps the Oregon Crusaders in 2018 on trumpet and earned a contract for the canceled 2020 season with The Academy.

Michael is very excited to be working with the band and can’t wait to see what’s in store for the upcoming year!
