Strategic implementation

The implementation of the strategy could include interest from the company towards their employees after the mentioned incidents of poor treatment. The airline has created an assistance programme related to mental health, stress or difficult life circumstances of employees (Wizz Air, 2022d). In addition, in 2019 a benefits scheme was introduced for employees in financial difficulty. In order to make sure that the proposed solutions are sufficient for the employees, the line could regularly ask the employees to fill in a survey or to contact them if they need support. This would allow employees to feel well cared for. Human potential is the basis for the proper functioning of the business. Given the airline's values such as positivity and dedication, focusing on employees should be of great concern to Wizz Air. All the more so if the future expansion goes the way it was envisaged, therefore with 20,000 employees by 2030 (Petrauskaite, 2022).

One of the latest news regarding Wizz Air's development concerns the creation of a new airline in Malta (Wizz Air, 2022e). From a strategic point of view, this move is intended to increase competition with Malta Air, which is part of the Ryanair Group. Such a move will require the implementation of new staff and aircraft. Given that the holiday season is approaching, Wizz Air's fleet of aircraft is likely to be fully operational. There is therefore an organisational issue as to whether such a measure will be worthwhile for the carrier. If there is a shortage of aircraft, the airline will be forced to lease them, and if there is also a lack of staff, to wet lease them. Such an event could take place, but it should be noted that the cost will be higher compared to the airline's standard operations. This could translate into higher ticket prices, which is not in accordance with the carrier's strategy.
