About

Without Compromise is an award-winning Scottish theatre company that debuted at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

 The collective is made up of early-career & emerging creatives who are dedicated to telling honest & working-class stories for working-class audiences and beyond.

We feel that Scottish theatre still struggles with a huge class divide. Both the stigma attached to theatre being ‘upper-class entertainment’ and the fact that we don’t see enough authentic working-class stories on stage. We don’t expect to be the vessel that brings about the social change that we need in Scottish theatre, but we refuse to be complacent and intend to be a part of the movement towards inclusivity and accessibility in theatre.

 The collective, founded by Michael Johnson, is dedicated to influential theatre. And we are determined to capture the minds of younger & underrepresented audiences. Making theatre a more accessible path for young people from a wider variety of backgrounds.
