About DHS WiSTEM
The Women in STEM Club (WiSTEM) is a student-led club at Davis Senior High School. Our club is dedicated to supporting and inspiring students at our school and in our community who are interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through club events and community outreach, we aim to combat negative stereotypes and encourage more girls to pursue STEM fields.
We host speaker events about twice a month for our club members in which women in STEM fields, including professors and graduate students, present to our club about their careers, research, and experiences. We also provide volunteer opportunities. This year, our club-members can volunteer as tutors to elementary school students at the public library and lead STEM activities targeted towards 1-3rd graders.
The WiSTEM Mathalon & STEM Fair is our main outreach event every year.
