The Workgroup on Interactive Systems in Healthcare (WISH) connects academic and industry researchers across human-computer interaction, medical informatics, health informatics, digital health, and beyond to foster a community around innovations in consumer and medical health and wellbeing. The WISH Symposium will regather the HCI health and wellbeing research community for the first in-person community meeting at AMIA in four years, allowing us to discuss and disseminate findings, methods, and approaches toward understanding and creating interactive health and wellbeing systems. This year, we have a special focus on Human-AI Interaction in Healthcare!
We will continue the tradition of providing mentoring opportunities for early- and mid-career researchers, ranging from undergraduates to post-PhD, to establish future generations of scholars in the area. This will be the 11th WISH meeting, following a successful tradition of workshops at relevant venues, including CHI, over the past decade.
Submissions: We are accepting poster presentations this year! WISH has been successfully bringing together researchers, designers, and practitioners working at the intersection of health and interactive systems. It’s a great opportunity to connect, get feedback, and gain visibility for your work to a diverse audience — both within and beyond the AMIA community.

Attending WISH: If you have already registered for the AMIA full conference, you are welcome to join us and do not need to register again! For poster presenters, we have managed to obtain a special discount for WISH @ AMIA at $50 / per person.
Note: This discount is only for the WISH workshop and does not apply to the broader AMIA conference. Selected posters will only be presented during the WISH workshop session, and not in an AMIA Symposium poster session.
