"WOW! That's awesome! I really enjoyed listening and had no idea I liked the banjo!"
- B.J. Jenkins
I first heard Michelle play her wired banjo at an event in Macon last year. It was obvious she played well. But it wasn't until she played at another event, hosted by John Tinker in February of this year, at which my sister Donna and I were guests, that I really became aware of how amazingly talented she is. I suggested that she might play on one of the Wet Willie songs on the program that evening, and with very short notice she learned the song - Weekend - and absolutely nailed it! Since then Michelle has shared a lot more of her music with me, and whether it's an Irish jig, a bluegrass classic like Foggy Mountain Breakdown, a gospel favorite like Amazing Grace and other genres, it's very clear that Michelle was meant to play the banjo. Check out her music at Wiredbanjo on YouTube.
- Jack Hall of Wet Willie
Michelle is one of the most collaborative musical artists I have had the pleasure of working with in years. Her talent is boundless, her precision and creativity are wound up in a buoyant creative spirit. So grateful to have had the chance to direct Michelle and would love to share the stage with her someday!
