Ship Demolition Process

· The most basic and common way to dismantle a ship is by breaking it into a number of different parts before breaking it further. If we talk about some of the biggest ship breaking yard in our country, then the process of ship demolition starts at the seashore. A number of ship breaking contractors or cash buyers have their offices at the shipyards along the coasts of the seas.

· When a ship is on the verge of breaking down, then it needs to float steadily and hit the beach of the shipping yard where it is being stopped. Once it reaches on the sea shore, the engine of the ship is shut down and the anchor is dropped off so as to make the ship steady. Then the ship breakers who are involved in the ship breaking process start to work after they prepare a plan of how they need to dismantle the ship.

· And the sea shore, the workers pull down the vessel with the help of strong chains, cables and machinery systems. This is considered as one of the dangerous tasks of the ship dismantling procedure as sometimes, the change or cables might breakdown and might hurt the laborers working over there.

· There are a number of rules and regulations stated that has to be followed for demolishing a ship. These rules and regulations ensure that the whole procedure of ship breaking do not impose any risk to the human health, safety and environment. Earlier, the workers do not for load any of the laws which have already caused great danger to the human life and environment and therefore it has become important for the entire ship breaking yard to follow a set of rules and regulations.

· Just before the process of ship breaking starts, the fuel tanks of the ships are drained of so as to prevent accidental dangerous at the shipping yards. Then the workers explore the vessel carefully and locate the important items like flags, liquor, electrical wiring, electronics, furniture, machinery and more items. Then these items are sold off of to the traders at a bargained price.

· After the initial scrapping process, the supervisor and other authorized person inspects the entire ship and decides what immediate action has to be taken. They then prepare a plan for further breaking down of the ship.

· After preparation of the plan, the workers get armed with a variety of torches, sheer elbow greases and sledge hammers and break down the ship.
