Many organizations and people have helped to bring the RiverWalk Augmented Reality experience to Winchester.
Winchester Riverwalk is a project of the WCD among others to bring arts and culture into Winchester for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. WCD leaders and members have led walking tours of RiverWalk.
WCC supports Riverwalk with grants and is one of the channels for publicity about these projects.
Local Cultural Councils such as WCC are supported by the Mass Cultural Council. MCC also designates Cultural Districts: Launched in 2011 by an act of the state legislature, Cultural Districts drive economic growth, strengthen our distinctive local character, and improve the quality of life of families across Massachusetts. By supporting arts, humanities, and science organizations, Cultural Districts attract tourists and entrepreneurs, which in turn help communities foster their cultural sector and expand their tax base.
Coordinated exhibits and provided curation guidance for the exhibits.
Hoverlay staff have participated in free workshops for residents interested in AR, with hands-on demonstrations and many hours of technical support to make Riverwalk work smoothly.
Winchester Historical Society sponsored a high school internship project that created Hoverlay spaces highlighting Winchester history.
Winchester Community Access Media, our local cable TV station, has provided the green screen studio and staff assistance to record poets and musical performers.
Jenks Center hosted ongoing tours and helped select the sculptures on the Riverwalk.
The Chamber helps promote Winchester Riverwalk both inside and outside of Winchester.
The town and many departments such as the Department of Public Works, have worked with Riverwalk to prepare foundations for outdoor sculptures and ensure the safety of the residents and visitors who come to enjoy the project, and the town.
Faculty and students from WCMS have performed pieces for our enjoyment.
Winchester Rotary, EnKa Society, the Nolan Group and other local groups have supported Winchester Riverwalk with grants and support.
