Privacy Policy — Windy Route
Effective: 28 Sep 2026
This policy applies to Windy Route and every other game published by PicnicTubeStudio.
In short: We don't run our own servers and we don't store your data on one. Sign-in, ads, and multiplayer connections are handled entirely by Google, Apple, and Unity's services. Your progress lives only on your device — uninstalling the game deletes it, unless you've chosen to sign in with Apple or Google Play Games, in which case a copy also lives with that service so it can follow you to another device.
1) What we collect
Nothing, directly. Windy Route has no backend of its own — there is no PicnicTubeStudio server receiving, logging, or storing anything you do in the game. Every piece of data described below is collected and held by the third-party service that provides it, under that service's own privacy policy.
2) Third-party services
Google Play Games Services (Sign-in, Leaderboards, Achievements)
If you sign in with Google Play Games, your player ID and any leaderboard or achievement progress are stored by Google, governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
Apple Game Center (Sign-in, Leaderboards, Achievements)
On iOS, if Game Center is enabled on your device, the game signs you in automatically (or prompts you) to show leaderboards and achievements. Your Game Center player identifier and leaderboard/achievement progress are stored by Apple, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).
Sign in with Apple (optional — syncs your progress across devices)
Windy Route offers an optional "Sign in with Apple" button (main menu) so your coins, cosmetics, and best-distance record can follow you to a different iPhone/iPad, not just survive a reinstall on the same one. Without it, your progress is still backed up, but only to the one device you're playing on. Apple's sign-in flow may share your name and email address (or a private relay email, if you choose to hide it from us) with our identity/cloud-save provider, Unity — see Unity's Privacy Policy (https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy). We never see or store your Apple ID, email, or real name ourselves; only Unity's Authentication service does, purely to know which cloud save belongs to which signed-in player.
Unity LevelPlay (Advertising)
Rewarded and banner ads are served through Unity LevelPlay (Unity's ad mediation platform, formerly branded "Unity Ads"), which may use your device's advertising ID to personalize and measure ads. See Unity's Player & App User Privacy Policy (https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy).
Before any ad is shown, the game asks you to accept or decline personalized advertising. If you decline, ads keep showing but are not personalized to you, and your advertising ID is not used for that purpose. You can change this choice at any time from Settings → Ad Preferences. On iOS, the game also asks for the operating system's own App Tracking Transparency permission before your advertising identifier (IDFA) can be used for this purpose at all — declining that system prompt (or the explainer shown just before it) means your IDFA is never accessed for ads, on top of the accept/decline choice above.
Google AdMob (Advertising)
Unity LevelPlay may route some of those same rewarded and banner ads through Google AdMob as one of its mediated ad networks. When it does, AdMob may use your device's advertising ID (or, on iOS, your IDFA — subject to the same App Tracking Transparency permission described above) and collect ad-interaction data as described in Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Google's page on how it uses information from sites or apps that use its services (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
The same accept/decline choice described above also applies to AdMob — declining personalized advertising stops AdMob from using your advertising ID for personalization too. You can also manage ad personalization directly at adssettings.google.com.
Unity Gaming Services (Authentication, Lobby, Cloud Save)
The game briefly uses an anonymous Unity Player ID to look up the short join code a host shares with friends — this lookup only ever carries that short code and a connection identifier, never anything about you personally, and isn't stored once the lobby is closed.
On iOS, this same Unity identity is also used to back up your coins, purchased/equipped cosmetics, and best-distance record to Unity's Cloud Save service, so a reinstall (or, if you've signed in with Apple, a different device) can restore your progress. This identity is anonymous by default; it only becomes linked to your real name/email if you choose to use the "Sign in with Apple" button described above. See Unity's Privacy Policy (https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy) for how Unity Authentication and Cloud Save handle this data.
Epic Online Services (Peer-to-Peer Multiplayer)
Co-op sessions connect players directly to each other (peer-to-peer) using Epic Online Services. Signing in for this uses an anonymous Device ID tied to your device — no Epic Games account, email, or personal information is required or collected. This creates a Product User ID used only to identify you to the other player(s) in your own session while it's active.
To make the peer-to-peer connection, your IP address is necessarily visible to the other player(s) you're connected with, and — when a direct connection isn't possible — your traffic may be routed through Epic's own relay servers. This is governed by Epic Games' Privacy Policy (https://www.epicgames.com/site/en-US/privacypolicy).
Data on your device
Your in-game progress — resources, unlocks, saved settings, and your ad preference choice — is written only to local storage on your own device. It is never transmitted to us directly (see the Unity Gaming Services section above for the one case where it's backed up to a cloud service instead of us). Uninstalling Windy Route, or clearing its data from your device's app settings, removes the local copy completely.
Deleting your data
Because we hold none of it ourselves, deletion happens directly through whichever service holds it:
Google Play Games — Play Games app → profile icon → Settings → Delete account, or manage it at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy
Apple Game Center — Settings app → [your name] → Game Center → turn off, or manage your Game Center data through Apple's own privacy tools (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/)
Sign in with Apple / Unity Cloud Save — Settings app → [your name] → Sign in & Security → Sign in with Apple → find Windy Route → Stop Using Sign in with Apple. This stops the link on your device; to also delete the underlying coins/cosmetics/best-km record stored by Unity's Cloud Save (there's no self-service deletion screen for it), email picnictubestudio@gmail.com
Advertising ID (Android) — Android Settings → Google → Ads → Delete/Reset advertising ID, or decline personalized ads from Settings → Ad Preferences in-game
Advertising identifier / Tracking (iOS) — Settings app → Privacy & Security → Tracking → turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track, or turn tracking off for Windy Route specifically on that same screen
Epic Online Services — your Device ID and Product User ID are anonymous and tied only to your device, not to any personal account; uninstalling Windy Route ends their association with you. For Epic's own data subject request process, see their Privacy Policy above.
Local progress — uninstall the app, or (Android) Settings → Apps → Windy Route → Storage → Clear data
5) Children's privacy
Windy Route is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Age restrictions and any additional safeguards for younger players are set by the store or platform Windy Route is distributed through.
6) Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page will change with it. Meaningful changes will also be noted in the game's store listing update notes.
