Christopher Fulton grew up in Norwalk, CT and graduated from Brien McMahon High School in 1987. He went on to attend the University of Rhode Island on a football scholarship where he was a four year letterman. Upon graduating from college in 1992 with a Bachelors of Art in Speech Communications, Chris was hired as the Youth Director at the South Norwalk Community Center. It was there and then while working at the Paul Newman sponsored Vitam Center, that Chris realized that the profession of teaching would be his career.
Chris went on to graduate from the University of Bridgeport with a Masters in Teaching and be hired in Norwalk Public Schools as an English and Social Studies teacher. During his time in Norwalk, he became English Department Head, served on the Norwalk Public School Curriculum Advisory Board, trained as B.E.S.T. mentor and coached youth programs throughout the city.
Christopher Fulton is a founding member of the Capital Preparatory Magnet School. He was on the Planning Team of the school and in 2005, came to Hartford to be an English teacher and Athletic Director. The dream was to be a part of something amazing, which was to open up a year round, college prep school that would send 100% of its students to college. Chris was instrumental in developing the English curriculum which helped to establish the school’s standardized test scores as some of the best in the state.
