Criteria required to be eligible for nomination to the Windsor High School Athletic Hall of Fame:
* All of the categories stated are open to individuals that are living or deceased.
* All nominated individuals and teams must have displayed exemplary character.
* Post Windsor High School athletic achievements may be noted but not required for nomination or induction.
* Eligibility and selection to the Windsor High Athletic Hall of Fame will be at the sole discretion of WHS Athletic Hall of Fame committee.
* Windsor High Athletic Hall of Fame reserves the right to remove any individual for personal conduct which reflects discredit upon WHS.
Athlete requirements:
* Graduate of Windsor High School, or its predecessor John Fitch High School.
* Eligible for induction ten (10) years after graduation.
*Competed and excelled in Windsor High School sanctioned varsity sport.
* Made significant and conspicuous achievements in the sport or sports while receiving an athletic letter(s).
* Awarded any of the following: All-State, All-Conference or equivalent, significant team or individual records and/or accomplishments.
* An Athlete is defined as, per Merriam-Webster dictionary: a person who is trained or skilled in exercise, sports, or games requiring physical strength, agility, or stamina
Team requirements:
* Achieved any of the following: Conference Championship, State Championship, regional championship, either achieving an outright championship, or highest level of achievement in that era.
* Eligible ten (10) years after achievement.
Coach requirements:
* Made a long-term exemplary and honorable contribution to Windsor High School (or its predecessor John Fitch High School) athletic programs through his or her leadership, team success, and achievements.
* A coach is eligible for nomination five (5) years after completing coaching at Windsor High School or John Fitch.
Contributor requirements:
* Individual(s) who has made outstanding contributions or offered extraordinary services to the student/athletes and the athletic program(s) at Windsor High School, John Fitch, or Town of Windsor athletics.
Nominations:
* A completed Windsor High Athletic Hall of Fame nomination form must be completely filled out.
* The nomination forms are available on the Windsor High Athletic Hall of Fame website or Facebook www.facebook.com/pages/category/Community/Windsor-High-School-Athletic-Hall-of-fame-224213154324423/
* The nomination form along with any supporting documentation must be delivered to the Windsor High Athletic Hall of Fame committee by January 31st of the nomination year.
* It is encouraged that a nomination include information with supporting documentation (such as a newspaper article) and/or sources where information provided is verified.
* Supporting documentation can include but is not restricted to the following items: Awards and achievements, school records, state records, career statistics.
* All nominations remain active from the date of nomination. All applications remain confidential.
The new members of Windsor High Athletic Hall of Fame class will be notified individually on or about March 1. The new class of the Windsor High Athletic Hall of Fame will be announced at a Windsor High athletic event, subject to the Windsor High team schedules. The induction ceremony will take place in November of that same year.
Selection Process:
*The entire committee will review all of the nominations and make selections using the criteria listed above. The class will not exceed 10 inductees. A voting member must recuse him/herself from voting in the category if a family member has been nominated. Also, if a voting member is a coach of a team that has been nominated, the member must recuse him/herself from voting in the team category. He/she must leave the physical location of the vote.
