Answer: Windsor Gate has posted a 'No Solicitation' policy and frowns on individuals from soliciting orders, sales, funds, contributions or donations on behalf of a business, occupation, organization, vocation, or individual for commercial, charitable, nonprofit, or other noncommercial purpose, door-to-door or house-to-house.
Although soliciting cannot legally be prohibited, the City of Duluth ordinance requires that all solicitors be permitted by the City Clerk. Therefore, if you are contacted by someone soliciting in Windsor Gate, ask him or her for their solicitor's permit. In most cases, the individual will not have the required permit, and you can notify the Duluth Police Department.
Important: This does not apply to individuals canvassing a neighborhood on behalf of a religious or political purpose.
