Red outlining the edges of black markings, either in a sharp vivid stripe or fading out in a broad "sweep."
It may affect only some black markings or all of them, completely or partially.
Red may be a dark liver color or so light it appears white.
Washed does NOT attach to edges of black caused by dilutions (i.e. Merle spots, the inside of Rosetted spots)
Washed does NOT attach to the edge of black caused by Base coats (i.e. Bay)
Washed MAY attach to the Sooty gene, creating a soft black to red gradient, OR, if sooty has turned a red marking completely black, Washed may appear to attach to that marking.
Skin is not affected. Eyes are not affected.
In hooved creatures, mane/tail is not affected.
