Wind Instrument Masks and Bell Covers

Many people have been working to find a way for musicians playing wind instruments to be able to wear a mask while playing their instrument. My mother and I developed a mask to use while playing a wind instrument and posted a video on youtube on June 23, 2020 showing how to make the mask. We have since updated the mask and developed printed instructions for making the mask. The updated mask provides coverage while playing; the long flap can be secured around the lead pipe or neck of the instrument so the player's mouth and nose are covered while playing.

Below are two videos demonstrating the mask: the first is a close-up on one instrument; the second is the mask being used in rehearsal.

Links to pdf instructions for making the mask (three different versions) are found on the "Long Flap Mask Instructions" page.

The "Flute Mask" page includes videos and instructions for making a mask to wear when playing the flute and video demonstrating an end cover for the flute.
