The HUD

Turns the WindCompass On / Off

Basically it turns the Compass Hud out of sight. All functions remain active.

• Set wind direction:
  Click Compass markers ("N", "NE"... etc.) to set Winddirection

• Set wind speed:
  Click the numbers on the right of the Compass.

• BOSS boats allow to set wind by numbers:
  Click the compass ring or inside the ring to open the menu.
  Select "Winddir", "Windspeed" to enter the wind by numbers. (Windspeeds over 30kt will be declined.)
  Select "Default" to reset to default wind 360° / 15 kt.

• Send the wind to the boat, activate the UPLOAD button.
  You may leave this activated.

Note: Boss and BWind systems are supported.

• Enters Racemode

• Activates Countdown Timer

• Listens for Racewind

• Tells the boat to get racewind (if "Upload", is activated, read below)

Before Race always get fresh Racewind, to make sure, not taking old Racewind to a new race.
Depending on your setting, there will be a Warning before leave Racemode.
Windspeeds over 30kt will be declined.

• In Racemode WindCompass will send "racing" to the boat.
  No need to type "cruising"..."racing" in chat anymore. If you forgot to activate this option first, WindCompass will tell the boat again, to get racewind.

• In Cruisemode WindCompass will send wind to the boat.
  No need to type "winddir"... "windspeed" it in chat anymore. If you forgot to activate this option first, WindCompass will send the current cruisewind again.

(Default: Off)

Click on it, to cycle infotext format

  (in Racemode with Race ID and unprocessed Racewind)

Note: If the Text is green, the Boat is ready for Race.

• TWA+AWA

• HDG || Boatspeed || Countdown/Stopwatch (Click on TextHud, to change text- or timeformat.)

• VMG+Boatspeed

Note: During a Countdown, the middle line will be replaced by the Countdown time. On running Stopwatch the middle line will be replaced by the Stopwatch time. The HDG is also shown above the Compass.

• Listens for Start- AND Stopsignals from the Raceline
  You must be in the same Region with the Raceline to be able to receive the signals.

• It shows the Countdown, as soon the Startsignal has been received.
  Click the numbers, to change timeformat: 00:00 or just seconds

• After the countdown is up, the Timer keeps running.
  You can change this in Options > Channel > enter count.

• The countdown plays the following Signals:
  - signalhorn at countdown start
  - signalhorn 1 minute before start (preparation signal)
  - timer beeps at 30, 20, 15, 10, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 seconds

(Default: OFF)

Note: During an active Stopwatch, the Countdown is not available.

Gestures are the fastest way to set wind, (no using menu or click on Hud).
If you use gesture chat commands to set wind for your boat, WindCompass can pick them up too!

It listens for chat commands in BOSS format ("winddir ..." and "windspeed ...") or BWind format ("N", "E", "15", "21" etc.) on channel /29000 or your own channel (How to set my own channel: see Options). It also listens for wind commands from own worn HUDs (example: Skipper Hud from Rubber Bunny)

(Default: OFF)

Note: Gesture mode is not available in Racemode.
If Gesture mode is active, manual windsetting by Click is disabled.

If both, skipper and crew, using a WindCompass, the skipper can synchronize the winddirection and -speed on the crews Compass.
This might be useful for practice purposes or sailing lessons.

• This works in Cruisemode.

• Crew activates the "Gestures" button. (If Smart Mode is active, it triggers Autosync with Skippers Compass.)

• Skipper can use "Send Wind"/"Smart Mode" OR gesture based shortcuts.

Cycles trough AWA dial styles:

• Black >> Yellow >> None >> Outer Ring >>...
