On this tab, you can customize the Set note menu, configure tags for displaying labels in the HUD, change icons and colors for existing labels, and customize the appearance, location, and operation options of the Note editor - a window for editing text notes.
Here you can customize the appearance of the note menu, which will appear when the HUD / Player panels / OnClick / Set note menu option or the Hotkeys / Additional hotkeys / Set note menu hotkey are activated.
Using the Font, Background color, Background color (highlighted item), Font color, and Font color (highlighted item) options, you can customize the font, size, boldness, text color, and background color for regular elements and the highlighted element.
Rows per column - if your menu has many types of labels, you can organize their display in multiple columns. To do this, set the number of lines in the menu column here (0 disables this mode and all notes will be displayed in a single column).
Show note editor - adds a Note editor item to the menu, which opens the text note editor.
Here are options for managing tags that display color notes in the HUD.
There are three tags for this in the HUD / Player panels:
[frame_note] - displays the note's color frame. If you only use the frame, add at least one space to the panel so that the panel has a non-zero size. Also, set Frame / Width to a value greater than zero so that the frame is visible. Next, adjust the panel's size using the Border width and Fixed width options. Also, enable Background / Invisible to remove the panel's background.
[background_note] - displays the panel's fill. You can create a small icon with the note's color using this tag, or create a full-fledged panel with the nickname, stack, and note icon, placed over the original pod. An example of how this can be done can be seen in the video below. It configures the panel with the following format string:
[frame_note][background_note][note_icon][nick][c=/][c=+Tahoma,24][stack_bb]
This panel displays the note's frame, fill, note icon, nickname, and, on the second line, the stack in bb in a larger font.
[note_icon] - displays the note icon.
Load notes - enable this option if you want to use color labels or text notes in the program.
[frame_note] brightness - the brightness of the note frame color. You can set a specific base color for the color label, and the note icon will always be displayed in this color. You can also select more muted shades of the same color for the frame and fill. This option sets the frame color brightness as a percentage.
[background_note] brightness - a similar option for the note fill—its brightness as a percentage relative to the note's base color.
Show frame without note - if this option is enabled, then when using the [frame_note] tag, a gray frame will also be displayed for opponents who don't have any marks.
Here you can customize the colors and icons for notes displayed in the HUD.
There are no options for adding, deleting, or reordering notes. For these purposes, use the corresponding options in the poker client settings:
Here you can add and remove notes, edit the note's text description, and rearrange notes.
After editing the list, restart the poker client without closing WinamaxCaption so that the program can load the new note list.
Use custom note - enables overriding for the selected note.
Color - allows you to change the note's color in the HUD.
Tag - allows you to change the note's text description displayed in the note setup menu.
Note icon - allows you to change the icon displayed by the [note_icon] tag and in the note setup menu.
Text note editor settings. Here you can customize the font, font color, and background color of the text note editor, as well as its appearance location.
You can specify several options for the Note editor's position inside or outside the table, or a slot with absolute coordinates. The Note Editor can be moved freely around the screen, resized (the size is preserved), text can be copied to and from it, and so on.
Notes are saved automatically when you close the Note Editor. If you close the desktop first and then the Note Editor, the text in the note will not be saved.
Close by table click - close the editor by clicking on the table
Mouse jump to Note Editor - the mouse will automatically jump to the Note Editor when it's opened (this can be convenient, as while the mouse is there, hotkeys will be blocked since the mouse is not over the table, and you can use hotkeys for typing).
The Close when mouse leaves sub-option closes the Note Editor if the mouse moves outside of it.
You can also close the Note Editor using the Esc key
You can open the Note Editor in the following ways:
HUD / Player panels / OnClick / Note editor - by clicking on the HUD panel
Notes / Set note menu / Show Note editor - via the Set note menu (the Show Note editor option adds this item to the menu)
Text notes can be displayed in a pop-up HUD panel by configuring one of the HUD panels with HUD / Player panels / OnHover / Note. To see whether an opponent has a text note, you can use the [hasNote] tag. This displays the panel only for opponents with a note. You can also see an example of using this tag in the video at the bottom of the page.
In addition to the Set note menu, you can also set labels with a single click using hotkeys, which can be configured in the Hotkeys / Additional Hotkeys tab:
Here you can set up a hotkey for each color, or for your most frequently used colors.
The Note number specifies the number of the note in the order they are listed in the Set note menu. Set this to 0 if you want a hotkey for removing the note.
The For player option allows you to select the opponent to whom the note will be assigned. By default, it will be assigned to the opponent under the mouse, but if you play Expresso without using a mouse, it may be convenient to set up hotkeys for marking opponents to the left or right of the hero, which is what this option allows you to do.
Below you can watch a short video on setting up and using color notes and text notes in WinamaxCaption.
Badges are designed for tagging opponents. They serve as a middle ground between text notes and color marks: the process of assigning a badge is similar to setting a color mark, yet you can apply multiple badges to reflect more specific behaviors or opponent characteristics. Badges appear as colored icons accompanied by predefined text comments; the system tracks the order in which they are assigned, and multiple badges can be applied to the same player.
To display badges at the table, add a panel with [player_badges] tag to HUD / Player panels; choose Player badges menu action to the OnClick event and Badge labels to the OnHover event:
For opponents with no badges assigned, the panel will display a "+" symbol; for opponents with badges, the panel will display the badges themselves. Clicking the panel opens the badge assignment menu, while hovering the mouse over it displays a popup with text descriptions of the badges:
Badge panel with the badge assignment menu open
At the bottom of the menu, there is a Del submenu that allows you to remove previously addigned badges
Badge panel with a popup that appears on mouse hover
The popup displays text comments for the badges
You can add new badges to the list using the Add new button, remove them using the Delete button, and reorder them using the arrow buttons to the right of the list.
You can also edit badges using the Badge section located on the right.
The Font button allows you to select a symbol font installed on your computer.
The Symbol button lets you choose a specific symbol from the selected font.
The Color button allows you to select the symbol's color.
The Label field allows you to set, edit, or remove a text comment for the badge.
Font size and color, as well as all other menu colors, are configured using the same options as those found in the Set note menu.
Badges per row in [player_badges] tag option allows you to display a large number of badges across multiple lines in the HUD. Here, you can specify the number of badges displayed in a single row of a panel.
Also you can watch a short video on this topic (it shows all options described above except OnHover / Badge labels)
