All attendees to WCC run events must be members of the club. This is to satisfy our insurance policy and comply with GDPR regulations concerning data and communication. To apply for membership contact the Club Secretary ( wimchess_sec@yahoo.com ). We have 3 levels of membership;
Junior Coaching
Junior Membership (match and social chess)
Adult Membership (match and social chess)
Match Chess
1 League £40
2 Leagues £75 (Seniors £50)
3 Leagues £100 (Seniors £50)
Titled Players, Women and Juniors: £0
Social Chess £25
The club runs on a non-profit basis. The subscriptions we do levy from our members not only cover our costs (i.e. league fees, venue rental, insurance, bank charges, website hosting, equipment, engraving, prizes etc), but also subsidise the club's activities.
WCC sponsors Women and Juniors to play chess for free. We also try to keep the cost of Social Chess as low as possible, but our venue costs are expensive (£1500~ p.a.) and consistently increase year on year.
For these reasons, Donations are always welcome.
If you would like to make a donation to the club, please contact our Treasurer Martin Lake.
ALL members (Adults and Juniors) and the parents of junior members must read and abide by our Child Protection Policy
