The Williston Town Band is a group of local musicians who volunteer their time and talents to perform summer concerts at the town bandstand. The community band was established in 1958 by Howard Carpenter and Herb Painter in response to the need for a marching band for the town's 4th of July parade. Since then, over 400 musicians have participated in this organization.

Conductor Needed

The Williston Town Band seeks an experienced, supportive and encouraging leader to conduct its concert band. The band rehearses and performs on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer at the Bandstand behind the Dorothy Alling Library in Williston.

The conductor conducts rehearsals and concerts from June through August and monthly rehearsals in winter. Band members include both adult and student musicians with a variety of experience levels.
