How long have you played with WTB, and how did you come to join us? Since about 2003. I played french horn professionally from 1971-1992 and missed making music with friends after I stopped. I joined on trombone in 2003 (I think!) and Bob Tokarz lent me a baritone horn that I play to this day, having eventually purchased it from him!
Which instruments do you play? I played Trombone early on but Baritone (Euphonium) mostly. I also substitute conduct as needed.
Do you play in any other local bands? No. I played with Green Mountain Brass Band and currently have an early music group, "Chapin's Consort."
Are you originally from Vermont? No. I'm from Amherst, MA, but I've lived in Chittenden County since 1971.
What kinds of things do you like to do when you aren't playing music?
Professionally, I'm a retired Software Designer/Programmer/Manager.
Personally: I volunteer with the Williston Planning Commision and do conservation work around town. I sing in the Noyana Hospice Choir. I volunteer as a Four Winds teacher in Williston Schools.
What else should we know about you? I've enjoyed substitute conducting the band! My wife has Alzeimer's dementia and our son and his family live with us--quite a blessing!
