Leading with Evidence
OAM 440 (Leading with Evidence) is an undergraduate elective typically offered in Fall. It is open to both BBA students and students in Emory College.
Leading with Evidence is designed to help would-be leaders and consultants dissect complicated problems, differentiate useful information from less-useful information, gather new knowledge, and overall make better decisions with a higher likelihood of success.
We draw on findings from cognitive psychology, management science, and data science; while we leverage quantitative evidence, a quantitative background is not required.
We apply these skills to problems faced in organizations (how can I know if this diversity program is working?) and in our everyday lives (how can I know if changing jobs will make me happier?).
Class sessions consist of interactive discussions, group exercises, and project work.
The course is part of the new Consulting depth launching Fall 2024.
It is well suited for anyone considering consulting careers, planning for leadership roles, or who just wants to make the best possible decisions in their adult lives.
To the left is an introductory video - it was made to launch the course back in 2021-22, but the basic overview still applies today. Reach out if you have questions about OAM 440.
