Willaston in the Past is a community group seeking to record and publicise the history of our lovely village. The village has changed from a small farming community with a population of just under 200 people in 1801 to the village that we know now.
Willaston in the Past is a community group seeking to record and publicise the history of our lovely village. The village has changed from a small farming community with a population of just under 200 people in 1801 to the village that we know now.
The organisation came out of exhibitions put on by the Willaston Residents' and Countryside Society to celebrate HRH Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee in 2022 and a second exhibition to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III in 2023. We had such a positive response that it led to the establishment of our organisation in March 2024.
