My first project investigates the internationalization of banks and their capacity to promote foreign trade by providing financial and informational assistance abroad from the second half of the nineteenth century until World War I.

My second project studies the history of foreign debt defaults in Latin America and the lending policies and strategies of British banks in financing governments between 1975 and 1983.

My most recent project aims to investigate the role of foreign and domestic capital – investment and credit – in the development of the industrial sector during the period of the Russian Empire’s rapid industrialisation between 1890 and 1903.
