Wildwood Foresters is an outdoor, all-weather homeschool enrichment program where children spend meaningful time exploring, discovering, creating, and connecting in nature.
Our days may include nature hikes, free exploration, team-building activities, seasonal projects, games, hands-on learning experiences, creative play, nature observation, and opportunities for child-led discovery. Children build connections with peers, share ideas, work collaboratively, and develop confidence through meaningful outdoor experiences and real-world problem solving.
Our curriculum is project-based and guided by monthly and seasonal themes designed to spark wonder, creativity, and engagement. While teachers provide structure and meaningful learning opportunities, we also follow our Foresters’ interests and discoveries as they work and play together, use their imaginations, take healthy risks, and deepen their understanding of the world around them.
We believe children learn best when given time to move their bodies, ask questions, solve problems creatively, and engage deeply with the world around them. Learners should come prepared to spend extended time outdoors throughout the school year in a variety of weather conditions. Muddy boots, changing seasons, curiosity-filled questions, and outdoor adventure are all part of the experience.
Wildwood Foresters is intentionally designed for children who enjoy being outside, exploring nature, and learning through hands-on experiences. Our small-group setting allows meaningful relationships to develop while creating a connected community where children can build confidence, resilience, and lasting connections with peers and the natural world.
Please send your Forester with:
• A hearty snack and lunch
• A water bottle
• Weather-appropriate extra clothing packed in their backpack
• Rain gear whenever moisture is in the forecast — or already on the ground
• Sunscreen and bug spray, as needed
Wildwood Foresters spends meaningful time outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions. Layers are your best friend — we recommend packing more than you think your child may need. Extra clothing can always stay in the backpack, but warm, dry Foresters are happier Foresters.
During colder months, many families find rain pants layered over snow gear especially helpful for staying warm and dry during outdoor play and exploration.
As we often say:
"There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing."
