Our Mission

At Wildwood Foresters, we cultivate curiosity, resilience, connection, and a lifelong appreciation for the natural world. Through meaningful outdoor experiences, learner-led exploration, play, and hands-on discovery, children are encouraged to think critically, solve problems creatively, and pursue their own interests.

We believe children thrive when given time to slow down, observe, take risks, ask questions, and engage deeply with the world around them. Time spent outdoors fosters confidence, resilience, and respect — for nature, for themselves, and for one another.

Through all-weather adventures, team-building experiences, and collaborative play, Foresters strengthen social skills, communication, and emotional awareness while building healthy bodies through movement and exploration. Our program supports the whole child, nurturing social, emotional, and physical development within a close-knit community where children can grow into capable, connected, and curious learners.

Who We Are

Wildwood Foresters is a women-led nonprofit organization founded in 2024 to create meaningful opportunities for children to connect with nature, build friendships, and learn within a supportive homeschool community. As we enter our third program year, we continue to grow a community centered around outdoor exploration, resilience, curiosity, and connection. 

Co-founders Nicole and Alex created Wildwood Foresters after recognizing a need for more opportunities that combine outdoor exploration, child-led learning, and community connection during children’s formative years. Together, they envisioned a program where learners could spend meaningful time outdoors, develop resilience, nurture curiosity, and build lasting relationships with peers and the natural world.

Alex, a New Hampshire native and former Kindergarten teacher, brings a passion for education and a love of nature to Wildwood Foresters. Her background in early childhood education helps shape meaningful experiences that support curiosity, confidence, and growth.

Nicole brings years of homeschooling experience and a deep understanding of the homeschooling community in New Hampshire. Her perspective as both a homeschooling parent and program leader helps create an environment where children and families feel connected, supported, and inspired.

Beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, Wildwood Foresters is excited to welcome Kristin to the teaching team. A New Hampshire native, registered nurse, and active member of the Kearsarge region community, Kristin brings a wealth of experience working with children, strong community roots, and a shared passion for outdoor learning.

Together, we are committed to creating a welcoming space where children can explore, grow, take healthy risks, and build meaningful connections through nature.
