My mother and I come from a long line of strong, Nebraska farm women. It has always been important to us to be self-sufficient while still being able to create beauty around us. In the Spring of 2016 we began making small batches of soap from the fresh milk my husband and I milked from our Nigerian Dwarf Dairy goats.
We make sure every Wildwood Goat Milk Soap bar is a piece of art with special attention to color, texture, and charm. Each bar is individually cut and contains over an ounce of goat milk. The goat milk along with nourishing oils supply a soothing lather that benefits skin. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

"Our main inspiration for this small business is my grandmother. She passed away in 2012 and I believe this is our way of honoring her. My grandmother was the one who quietly kept the home and farm running whether it be milking cows twice a day to peeling buckets full of apples from her prized apple trees. She gave all her glory to God and put Him in every aspect of her daily life. Her actions mirrored this and I can only hope to be half the woman she was. One of my grandmother’s favorite hymns was “The Church in the Wildwood”. So our name for our farm and soap business developed.
When my grandmother made her soap it was meant to really clean – clean everything from pans and pots to dirty overalls. Today’s mass produced, harsh cleansers and detergents strip our skin of moisturizing nutrients. They contain synthetic ingredients that are full of preservatives which may result in dryness and irritation. Did you know that our skin is our largest organ and studies have shown that 60% of what we put on our skin gets absorbed into our bloodstream? Our goat milk soaps are made from a variety of nutritious oils and butters carefully combined to cleanse and moisturize - plus we also include other goodies like essential oils, activated charcoal, coffee, turmeric - to name a few- which alone have a huge list of benefits.
Cleopatra was renowned throughout history for her radiant skin and stunning beauty. It was widely reported that it may have been due to the fact that she bathed in milk. Our most vital ingredient in our soap is the goat milk - each bar contains over an ounce. Goat milk is loaded with vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. It also contains selenium which is said by scientists to play an important role in preventing skin cancer. Its richness in butterfat and triglycerides reduces skin inflammation and acts as a natural moisturizer. Interestingly, the goat milk removes dead skin cells and leaves behind new that look more youthful and smoother. Goat’s milk has the closest PH level to our skin (can be easily absorbed) which helps protect our skin from bacteria and chemicals that spread acne. The fact that I can go out to my barn and milk one of my goats then create a product that is safe and beneficial for my family is very rewarding. Hopefully my grandmother would be proud! The most rewarding aspect of the journey is being able to collaborate and work with my best friend, my mother."
