Meet Natalia McKay - LPC, M.Ed, B.A.
(SHE/HER/HERS)
Hi! I'm Natalia, a professional counselor and therapist dedicated to helping teens and young adults. After five years as a school counselor in Philadelphia, I founded Wildflower Counseling. At 29, I understand the unique challenges facing our generation today.
I recently received my license in the Fall of 2024. I graduated with my M.Ed in School Counseling from West Chester Univeristy (2020) and have my B.A. in Psychology from Eckerd College (2018).
I am a believer and Christ follower. I love to incorporate prayer, meditation, and reflection into my sessions but do not make this mandatory and I welcome everyone regardless of your beliefs. In my free time I enjoy being outside, preferably near water. Cooking, exercising, and wedding planning (getting married in 2025!) are just a few of my hobbies.
Life can be incredibly overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate it alone. I'm here to help you find freedom and purpose during stressful times. Together, we can ensure you feel supported and empowered!
I don't believe in just using one approach or technique, because we're all different and unique individuals! I do primarily practice using a solution-focused and huministic approach. I focus on goal setting, where you're going more than were you've been, and hearing your life stories! There are times in our life when we can't go over, under, or around something. We have to go through it, but we don't have to go through it alone. I am motivated by stories and how we make meaning of our experiences. I believe in seeing people not as a diagnosis or as their trauma, but recovering from their own personal experiences. So let's find peace together in the most unlikely of places or circumstances!
The name Wildflower Counseling is incredibly meaningful to me. Did you know that wildflowers are some of the most resilient flowers, growing in every terrain and environment? They are nature's superheros, helping ecosystems thrive! In the Spring of 2024, I set out to create my own wildflower garden (pictured left). There are ~20,000 species of wildflowers, making them incredibly diverse and unique. My garden has become a place of peace and beauty no matter what is going on in my life. I love to think of humans as wildflowers. Each so different, special, and purposeful to our society in some way. I am very passionate about helping everyone discover their purpose.
"Consider how the wildflowers grow." - Matthew 6:29
