Reflections From a Past Mentee
I have thought of you nearly every time I have ever emotionally regulated with a child. I always think of the motto you shared with us students: “The child isn’t giving you a hard time – they’re having a hard time.” The amount of clarity and compassion repeating this phrase has brought to me, my coworkers, and my students has been invaluable. The generational trauma that I've been able to cycle-break as a caregiver and educator with this phrase is almost unfathomable.
