Sonoran Showdown
For our 3rd annual competition, we are inviting over 30 beelteweight robots and opening the floor to a whole antweight robot class. This will open the doors for a tougher competition and a more diverse watching experience. Get ready for Sonoran Showdown 2026!
For our second annual competition, we had 11 of our own teams compete in a tournament of 30 total 3 pound robots. Just like last year, we hosted robots from all over the western U.S, including a group of bots from ASU. Our competing bots were Triple Point (5), Liberator (9), Phobos (9), Piece of Cake (13), Spin to Win (13), Deimos (17), Mudskipper (17), Godspeed (17), High5 (25), Micro Menace (25), and Drive Nailed Get Hammered (25). Overall, Fragment X took first, Piano took 2nd, and Polytron took 3rd.
On March 3, 2024, Wildcat Robotics hosted our first tournament! 29 3 lb and 7 1 lb robots faced off against others in their weight class. Wildcat Robotics had 8 robots compete in the 3 pound class: Liberator (5), U.F.O (7), Red Hot Chili Bot (13), Slamshell (13), The Brick (17), Vaquero (17), Turtle (25), and High5 (25). The overall winners were Púca in the 3 pound class and .____________. (yes that's its official name) in the 1 pound class.
NHRL
On May 3, 2025, Wildcat Robotics took 3 competing robots, Liberator, Triple Point, and Phobos, to NHRL, the biggest tournament in the world, in Norwalk, CT. At NHRL, we faced some of the toughest opponents we've ever seen such as TurboFiend, Anubis, and Grim Ripper. While none of the competing robots won a tournament match, Piece of Cake won a freestyle match against Anubis, and everyone who attended had a great time and learned a lot about the competition for our club's first visit.
EVAC
Cactus Clash 2024
EVAC is one of our rival clubs, based in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2024, we took Liberator and U.F.O. to the first annual Cactus Clash beetleweight tournament. Liberator placed 3rd overall with their Mark II version, and U.F.O. placed 5th with their version 1.1. The tournament resulted in U.F.O. taking extreme damage from Liberator and Crescendo, splitting open. The overall tournament winner was SpinnyBoiii.
