I have long watched the TWHBEA / WHA program of Jamie Lynn Presgraves. She was blessed with a full-blooded Tennessee Walker stallion who also sported an appaloosa blanket, Admiral. That stallion is Rio's grandsire. Rio's entire sire line is registered TWH.
Rio, as he is now known, made his way from Texas to Michigan into the herd of another walkaloosa lover as a weanling with his dam. As time passed, he grew taller and taller so I was fortunate enough to be able to trade one of my smaller walkaloosa fillies for Rio. I wasn't sure what the future would hold for Rio in my program but soon after I got him home I was struck by what a laid back stallion he was. He was a long 2-year-old at the time and had already bred mares, but you would have never guessed by his behavior. He and my other stallion, Midas, got along famously from the get-go!
I considered gelding Rio, but the longer I had him, the more I realized he was giving me no reason to. His temperament, build, and gait are all desirable.
