Juglar - Star

Written by S2

Why hello everyone. It's another one of this articles again. This is the only place that will give you the ACTUAL BiS (best in slot) build for your class specific unit. Disclaimer: BiS builds are subjective and have various ways of building a certain hero pertaining to your play style (especially for a game like Langrisser).

Tired of not being able to buff your Doggo because your Zerida gets banned out first choice? Want your doggo to hit hard? Behemoth. Want your doggo to hit HARDER? Beast shock! I said HARDER! BLUESTAR!. You got damn right.

For those of you who are unaware, Beast shock deals 1.5x damage while ADDITIONALLY (no conversion) ADDING 40% of your Mdef and Def to Atk. The buff also lasts 1 turn so you can attack hard next turn if your Juglar is still alive.

Most people who uses Behemoth puts the typical Yggdrasil branch on him because he's a tank class. Yggdrasil branch grants +10% Def and ignores 15% of the enemy's Def during battle. It definitely sounds like the best lance for tanks.

But because of Juglar's Beast Shock, you can utilize every aspect of Blue Star's stat boost. Blue Star grants additional 5% Atk, Def and Mdef for every grid moved for a maximum of 15% each. That is 45% additional stats that Juglar gets from Blue Star alone that symbiotically works wonders with Beast Shock. Now tell me this, which one sounds better? 10% def increase that ignores 15% of unit's Def or 15% stat increase on Atk, Def and Mdef?

You might wonder "well the enemy can just play around Blue star" and my answer to you is "Hell no he ain't" Unless you're famous, they're going to just think that your Juglar is using Yggdrasil's Branch or something weaker. Once he sees the damage multiplier during combat from Blue Star, it'll already be too late.

Because of Master of Ice disables mobility for every unit besides aquatic and fliers, you can reposition yourself after you cast it in a way you'll be able to 100% grant the maximum output for your Blue Star, which is why I call this article "The Hunt Edition"

I've adapted to this build since they have been banning out my Zerida first pick. Hope you guys enjoy!

Pros

Watch as your enemy blow the fuck up on command

This dog is somehow a ninja because he has ninjutsu in his talent for easy positioning

Hits HARD and has HUGE scaling damage reduction for turn 2

Can move 2 grids after battle for better positioning including defense tiles.

More mobility than Hydra which threatens a larger zoning range

Has a huge AOE movement disability except for fliers

Cons

Way less tanky compared to his Hydra counterpart

Huge CD

Needs 3 blocks to maximize DPS

Blue star is entirely player phase

Blue Star for obvious reasons

Aeneas' Armor for doggo bone synergy

Spirit boots for repositioning

2 - 2 blues for maximum damage

Gargoyle for that sweet additional damage boost for initial attack, then a huge defense boost along with Juglar's talent damage reduction. The reason to not use Bats is because they do not offer any Def or Atk bonus. Bone Dinos are an alternate choice but they do not offer any Def.

How I play Juglar is like clockwork. Faction buff, master of ice the enemy's units (flier's don't work) then reposition in a way I'll be able to Beast shock. Not even. Watch them try to reposition themselves away before they get beast shocked until the inevitable happens.

Yes. I know. It's beautiful.
