Lance perished, and Betty who was devastated, decided to go with Ledin. It was at this time that Ledin lost sight of his goals, and he became entangled in doubts about his future. However, Betty inspired him, and in the end accompanied Ledin in destroying the two empires in order to bring calm to the tumultuous world by the power of Langrisser.
