Winter's puppy Monsoon, from the weather litter, gave birth to two yellow Labrador Retriever puppies in summer 2025. Pounce and Nittany, named after football mascots, will start their journey as life-changing service dogs with Freedom Service Dogs. We are excited to see where life takes these two cuties! 

As of August 2025, all 26 of Winter's puppies have fulfilled their destinies and found their forever homes. (See "Where Are They Now?" under the "Winter's Legacy" tab to learn more about each pup's destiny.) 

This is the end of an incredible chapter for Winter, me, and her puppies! Across three litters, all 26 of Winter's puppies have gone on to make a positive difference in some kind of way- whether it be as service dogs, therapy dogs, skilled companions, mama dogs, or pet dogs. We are so incredibly proud of all of Winter's puppies. Sending love to all 26 of you!

After having one litter of puppies, including two yellow Labrador females, Monsoon has retired from FSD's breeding program and will be placed with her guardian home as a loving companion. Enjoy your retirement, Monsoon! 

In August 2025, Foggy graduated as a mobility service dog with a young man living with a spinal chord injury named Kevin. We are so proud of Winter's final puppy for graduating and know he will make an incredible impact in Kevin's life. We love you, Foggy the service doggy! 

We are thrilled to announce that FSD puppy with a purpose and Colorado Avalanche Team Dog Maxy has joined our pack! Over the next year or so, we will work together to help guide Maxy on her journey to becoming a life-changing service dog with the Colorado Avs players in her corner. 

Maxy was born on 12/18/2024 to FSD Lyra and FSD Kingston. I started this journey with her at just 7-months-old, and we will spend the next year working on house manners, basic obedience, socialization, and confidence building. We will also attend Avs events and games to promote FSD and educate hockey fans about service dog etiquette. 

This is an incredible opportunity, and I feel blessed to have Winter and Hazy help raise Maxy with me! 

On May 5, 2025, Flurry went home with her new family as an FSD Skilled Companion Dog. Flurry was placed with a firefighter and will help bring more comfort and joy to his life. We are incredibly proud of Flurry and wish her the best! 

In April 2025, Breeze graduated as a professional therapy dog with a high school special education teacher in Colorado named Heidi. We are so proud of this sweet girl and know she will do amazing things! 

In April 2025, Rainbow graduated as a professional therapy dog with a licensed clincal psychologist who works with families and children impacted by trauma. We are so proud of Rainbow and know she will leave sunshine wherever she goes! 

In April 2025, Thunder graduated as an FSD Service Dog with a young woman living with a rare condition and neurodevelopmental disabilities named Michaela. We are so proud of our sweet boy and wish him so much luck on his new life! 

Due to ongoing skin issues with her upper-most left nipple, Winter had a surgery to remove the nipple and skin around the area. Now, she is at at home resting and recovering. We are hoping for clean biopsy results!

Winter is taking an Introduction to Nose Work class through Fenzi Dog Sports Academy! We are excited to start this sport, as Winter loves working with her nose and has shown a lot of interest in fun nose work before.

Storm was recently placed as a pet with loving members of the community and FSD volunteers. He will live out the rest of his days as a beloved pet and emotional support dog. We are so proud of Storm and know he will bring his new family so much love and joy. 

Cirrus was recently placed as a pet with her loving puppy raisers where she will live out the rest of her days as a spoiled companion. For some dogs, going into a life of service is just not in the cards. Regardless of what career path they choose, they still make a loving difference in the lives of many. For Cirrus, she will make a difference as a best friend. We're proud of you, Cirrus! 

Winter is a total pro at obedience, so I am trying out her skills in a novice rally class with Blue Springs n Katydid! More to come on her work in rally.

Winter and I finally got to meet her biological sister, Annie! Just a few months ago, we connected with Annie's people on Facebook, and we finally got the chance to have an in-person play date. It was a hit! 

Thanks to Hazy's stellar genetics and sweet temparment, she was selected to be a dual career pup at FSD! She will have one litter for FSD's breeding program and then go back into the service dog training program. We have opted to be her guardians during her time as a breeder and are so excited to be with her during this next chapter of her life! Plus, Winter is going to be a grandma! 

Winter's puppy, Zero, from the Airplane litter, has found his furever home as a pet with a family in Seattle who have been wanting to adopt an FSD dog for a long time now. We are so proud of this amazing boy and wish him luck moving forward!

Happy birthday to Hazy and the other gorgeous Weather babies! At only 1-years-old, these future service dog superstars are already making a difference and working towards changing lives.

We are excited to share that we will be finishing puppy raisers for Winter's baby, Hazy, from the weather litter! Hazy is currently 11-months-old and is working on mastering her primary cues and practicing her house manners. We are excited to provide more updates on Hazy as she works towards becoming an FSD Service Dog superstar.

We recently connected with the Famous Artist Litter's stud and found out that Freeda, the only female from that litter, has earned her Grand Champion show dog title at just 2-years-old! She also took home Best of Breed at the Colorado Kennel Club Dog Show in 2024. This is such an impressive accomplishment and speaks to their incredible lineage. We're rooting for you, Freeda! 

June 2024 

We are proud to share that Winter earned her AKC Novice Trick Dog title! The accolade "TDN" has been added to her name in recognition of this title. 

We look forward to earning more advanced trick dog titles!

We are thrilled to share that Winter earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen title and "CGC" has been added to her name. 

We are delighted to share that Mooney, from Winter's Airplane Litter, has been placed as an FSD Skilled Companion Dog with a veteran with Alzheimer's. We can't wait to hear all the great things you'll go on to do. Congrats, Moons!

December 2023

After having three litters (a total of 26 puppies!!!), Winter has retired from FSD's breeding program. I am over the moon to announce that I have ~finally~ adopted Winter. After everything we've been through together, I could not have asked for a greater gift than to officially call my best friend mine for the rest of her life. I love you forever, Wiggly Bear!
