LET'S CELEBRATE
Weekend Details below! :)
Weekend Details below! :)
We’ve planned a full long weekend to celebrate with everyone. Here’s what to expect:
Friday 17 July — Wine Tram & Welcome Dinner
Tram-update July 5th: We will be meeting at the Franshhoek Terminal between 9:30-9:45 am. We will first go to Haute Cabrière, up in the mountains, and then work our way back into town, stopping at Franshhoek Cellar and ending at Rickety Bridge for Lunch. Time-dependent, we will stop at Grand Provence in between.
If you'd like to join us, please buy your tickets at https://winetram.co.za/hop-on-hop-off/red-line. You'll need to buy tickets for the Red Line.
The Franschhoek Wine Tram
Friday is all about getting to know each other and falling in love with the valley before the big day. We’ve booked the iconic Franschhoek Wine Tram — a hop-on hop-off tram and bus experience through some of the valley’s most celebrated wine estates.
The tram winds through the valley floor, stopping at estates where you can taste award-winning wines, enjoy local food pairings, and soak in the scenery of vineyard-covered mountains. It’s social, relaxed, and genuinely one of the best ways to experience Franschhoek.
The Wine Tram is a fantastic icebreaker — whether you’re a wine expert or a curious first-timer, you’ll leave the afternoon with new friends and a very happy palate.
Welcome Dinner
Friday evening we bring everyone together for a relaxed welcome dinner. Think long tables, good food, and the easy warmth of people who are all here because they matter to us.
This is a casual, no-fuss evening — the purpose is simple: arrive, settle in, and let the weekend begin together.
Dinner Update!: We will be hosting a very casual welcome dinner at La Roche on the evening of the 17th at the Bistro on their estate. We would love to see you, and please let us know if you are going to be in town for this evening so we can ammend our order.
Saturday 18 July — The Wedding at La Roche
The big day. We’re getting married at La Roche — one of the wine estates in the Franschhoek Valley, set against a backdrop of mountains and centuries-old vineyards
We’ll be having a simple, heartfelt ceremony led by Father Ted, someone who has known us almost since the very beginning of our journey together.
There’s something incredibly special about being married by someone who has witnessed our story unfold, through the early days, the distance, the challenges, and all the growth in between. Father Ted has know us, for so much of it, and it means the world to have him standing with us as we make this commitment.
Our ceremony will be intimate and sincere, focused on what matters most to us: faith, family, and the promise we’re making to one another.

Children — Childcare On-Site
For all the parents joining us, we’ve arranged on-site childcare with registered nannies from Winelands Nannies. A dedicated children’s area will be set up at the venue so that the little ones are safe, happy, and looked after — and you can actually enjoy the day.
More details on the childcare arrangements will follow. Please let us know in your RSVP if you’ll be making use of this.
Dress Code
Smart, elegant, and practical. July is mid-winter in the Winelands — daytime highs are typically around 15–18°C, and evenings can drop to single figures. We’d suggest layering smartly — a jacket or wrap for the ceremony, and shoes you can dance in later.
Weather Tip for International Guests
July is the heart of winter in South Africa — which is the opposite of what most Northern Hemisphere guests expect! The Cape Winelands in winter means crisp, clear days with mountain scenery, occasional rain, and cool evenings. Pack a warm layer for outdoors. Indoors at La Roche will be warm and comfortable.
Sunday 19 July — Farewell Breakfast at La Roche
We’re not ready to say goodbye just yet. Join us Sunday morning for a relaxed farewell breakfast at La Roche MAnnonr house from 0830 0900— a chance to compare notes from the night before, share stories, and ease gently back into the real world.

We’ll be in Cape Town in the days before and after the wedding for informal get-togethers. If you’re arriving early or staying on afterwards, we’d love to see.
We will be arraging some touristy events so if you want to join in please let us know!
