Wicked Problems starts on Monday morning November 12 at 9.30AM in building 80 level 8 room 10

Please have a look around this website so you can familiarise yourself with the structure, however, there is no pre-work. On Monday morning you will meet your interdisciplinary team members and bond over a coffee and cupcake. On Monday afternoon we have 4 guest speakers coming to talk to you about the wicked problem of Homelessness. From then on you start working through a design methodology to come up with innovative solutions.

A New Take on the World's Toughest Issues

Wicked Problems Studio is a Spring university elective which combines co-design and design thinking in an attempt to crack seemingly unsolvable conundrums in society.

What is a Wicked Problem?

Wicked problems are complicated, interconnected social issues which have no simple solution like poverty, political instability, sustainability and wellbeing.

Why Design Thinking and Interdisciplinary Collaboration?

By its very nature, a wicked problem cannot be solved by simply throwing money at it. These issues are ingrained in our complex social structures, which means they require innovation and multi-disciplinary thinking for any change to occur.

Wicked Problems 2018

The course is back for round three. Students will be generating solutions for the wicked problem of Homelessness.

In a 5 day course spread over two weeks, you will work both on and off campus, brainstorming, building prototypes, and presenting your original solutions to a panel of industry experts.
