The Earth Takes Sita.

Tyrone was a very popular guy and sort of a celebrity in his area. Everyone knew Tyrone and many people knew Sasha.Tyrone and Sasha were a very loving couple and had gone through a lot together. They were together when Tyrone was arrested and sent away to live on his own. Tyrone and Sasha were together when Sasha was kidnapped by her crazy ex-boyfriend. This may have been one of the worst tragedies this couple has faced. However, through it all, they had stayed together and had managed to keep their relationship intact. This was until the rumors had started. "Did she really get kidnapped?" "I heard she faked it." Many rumors were surfacing that Sasha did not get kidnapped by her crazy ex-boyfriend, but that she had left on her own accord to be with him.
Tyrone did not want to believe the rumors and so he did what any man would do. After feeling pressured by the people around him, Tyrone made a secret plan to test her. He decided he would have his friend slide in her DMS to see if she was loyal. After contemplating and doubting if Sasha is mistrustful, he received word that she had passed the test with flying colors. His friend did all he could to shoot his shot but in the end, she still turned him down. Tyrone felt guilty and even ended up telling Sasha what he had orchestrated. Due to her patience, she was not angry with him and was even more understanding than anything. She told him, "I understand why you did what you did. If you feel like that's what you needed to do I trust you." Those words resonated with Tyrone, but even after this test, the couple continued to face hardships.
One day on a normal hangout with his friends, Tyrone, and his buddies began to talk about their relationships. Here, Tyrone's friends decided to tell him how they felt about Sasha. Each one echoed their distrust towards her saying things like, "She belongs to the streets." "She not it, bro", and "You gotta cut her from the roster." They pleaded with Tyrone and understood that Sasha and his relationship had gone through it all, but they truly believed that she belonged to the streets. To Tyrone's dismay, he could not ignore his lifelong friends' advice. Days had gone by since they told him how they truly felt. Tyrone could not ignore the voice in his head. The pressure finally got to him so he decided to kick Sasha out, despite her proving her loyalty to him. Sasha left without even an inkling of putting up a fight.
Kicking Sasha out was bound to end with some consequences for Tyrone. In order to protect his reputation he made up a story to tell people. He began telling people that she tried to kill him so people would not think negatively for his actions. While most were pleased with hearing how he did Sasha, he knew there would be some like her sister that would cause problems. So he ran with the story of her trying to kill him, only for it to bite him in butt later. Of course, word got to Sasha's sister Stephanie and she was beyond furious. Stephanie was Sasha's younger sister but you could never tell as she always found herself having to protect Sasha from her kindness. This is because Sasha has found herself in many situations where her kind nature left her vulnerable.
The rumor made it all the way to Stephanie and she knew there was no way it could be true. Stephanie was stuck because Sasha had not reached out to her. As much as she wanted to go hurt Tyrone for what he did, she needed to find her sister first. But this was not to ignore the consequences she felt Tyrone deserved.
To be Continued... Enter the Sister (Stephanie)
Author's Note: For this story, I decided to adapt the story of Valmiki’s hermitage, which was my inspiration for this story. I felt the end of Ramayana was truly controversial as many would say that Sita did not deserve to be exiled. I decided to portray a more modern version of their situation, replacing Rama for Tyrone and Sita for Sasha.
I felt the need to modernize this story as much as I could to make the story engaging for the audience. I wanted to try and incorporate different vernacular that is common in today's society. The difference between this story and what I had wrote in week 5 was the introduction of a new character, the sister. I added her to the story because I believe it adds a great twist in the plot. I also tried to add aspects of the story that I got from the advice of my comments. I stuck to the original plot in many ways but obviously made a couple of twists. One thing you will find the same is Sasha (Sita) does not really get a chance to defend herself. Given that, I still felt like I needed someone to punish the actions of Tyrone (Rama). This is why at the end I introduced a new female character with a stronger voice in order to acclimate to the modern setting.
