Adventurer's Boat

In a faraway land, there was a world of fantasy creatures and many different types of adventurers that complete different excursions and quests so they can be paid. One young adventurer by the name of Kurama had heard tales of this land and wanted the opportunity to explore it himself. Kurama was a young and kind person and had been sheltered most of his life. After many years of being home working with his father who was a fisherman, Kurama decided to set out for this world of fantasy and begin his first adventuring party.
He along with some friends had taken his family boat and sailed until they reached their destination. Upon reaching his destination he and his crew had signed their first contract which was to assist in getting rid of some Goblins in a cave. Categorized by experience level, the different contracts' pay is determined by the level of difficulty of the assignment. The different ranks start with the lowest being D, then C, B, A, and S rank respectively. As they set off for their first beginner level assignment they soon learned that the task was a lot harder than they had realized. Soon Kurama had noticed that everyone in his group had been wiped out and eaten by the Goblins. Before almost being eaten Kurama noticed a large figure in front of him. It was a masked man riding a horse and within seconds he had wiped out the horde of Goblins ready to kill Kurama. After eradicating the Goblins and saving Kurama the masked man began to ride away on his horse. Before he could leave Kurama called out to him for help on how to get stronger and rank up as an adventurer. The masked man agreed and helped Kurama up on his horse. What Kurama did not know was that the masked man was actually one of the highest rank adventurers and had achieved that rank by only killing Goblins. While riding away on his horse, Kurama learned about his savior's strong prejudice towards Goblins. Kurama's kind-hearted nature refused to believe that all Goblins were evil like the masked man was telling him. However, Kurama felt he could learn a lot from this man and maybe help convince him that there were good Goblins somewhere in this new world.
Months later, Kurama and his teacher returned having battled many different monsters and gone on many adventures. During that time Kurama was able to learn a lot about his mysterious savior, one of those things being his name. The masked man went by the name of Shinra. Shinra and Kurama returned to where it all started, but a lot had changed since they had left on their adventure. The city was left in ruins as a new dictator moved into town and wreaked havoc on the citizens. There was a rumor that the dictator possessed some special kind of powers and he was known to be an extremely difficult opponent as he had not been defeated by anyone who had challenged him. Shinra believed this was a perfect opportunity for Kurama to test his abilities. Therefore, without question Kurama set out to defeat the new dictator who had been ruling the lands since his and Shinra's departure. Shinra and Kurama arrived at the new palace the dictator had built right above the old Goblin caves.
Authors Note: I decided to change the story quite a bit. After reading the original story it reminded me of a show I had seen before, called Goblin Slayer. From there, I decided to change the characters and plot to help convey what I had remembered. All in all, I decided to go with an ending pretty close to the original, which was that both had some mysterious character who had a strong hate for Goblins save the protagonist.
Specifically, the original story featured a group of sailors wrecking upon the coast of Goblin city. The Goblins in the city were quite nefarious as their primary objective was to trick the sailors into marrying them so they could eat them in there sleep. However, one sailor in particular became privy to the Goblins' plans. Then a mysterious fairy with a strong disdain for Goblins appeared to save the men. The fairy saved those who wanted to be saved. Lastly, I decided to end the story on a cliffhanger just before Kurama sets out to challenge this dictator and show off his newfound skills. I adapted this part of the story because it still sticks to the plot I had recalled while reading the original story.
