Why TSVI?
Paths to Literacy is an online community of practice, sponsored by Perkins School for the Blind and Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI). Designed to share activities, lessons, and resources on all aspects of literacy for students who are blind or visually impaired, including those with multiple disabilities or deafblindness, they welcome ideas from the field.
Please see their guidelines for sharing your ideas or email them.
Paths to Literacy also has a strong presence on social media, including Facebook , Pinterest , Twitter and Instagram.
They invite you to subscribe to their free weekly newsletter. This is a great way to stay up on the latest ideas, news and events in the field. Their community includes TVIs, O & M instructors, paraprofessionals, families, speech therapists, OTs, special ed teachers, psychologists, and more. They welcome anyone interested in literacy for children and youth with visual impairments!
Teachingvisuallyimpaired.com is a great website with a lot of information about the vision field!
From www.teachingvisuallyimpaired.com "About: Hi! I'm Carmen Willings. Welcome to my website! I developed this web resource to support fellow TVI's and to educate those new to the field of visual impairments in how to best support students who are blind or visually impaired."
